Mi Perrito

Communication

Communicating is more than speaking the language.
Can we communicate without speaking the language?
I believe we can.
Hence I dare dream of moving to Peru with no Spanish.
But I am learning, starting from today:

Mi nombre es Fanny-Min.
Tengo una mascota.
Mi mascota es un perro.
Su nombre es Doggie.
Soy importante para ella.
Y ella es importante para mi.

MIN

Min = Swiftness & Sensibility.
I definitely smelled something burning …

I shouted into the kitchen:
‘Some plastic bit stuck onto your frying pan?’

I jumped up from my laptop seat and ran into the kitchen.
He dashed out to close the balcony door and all windows.

‘From outside,’ he said, ‘some people burning rubbish.’
And I trusted him.

I trusted him so much that I did not notice
What was happening to my foot-warmer …

Somehow

Somehow

Unlike Sammy,
When you say ‘come’, Doggie goes.
And now, when Sammy is gone,
When you say ‘come’, Doggie comes.

Sammy & Someone

Sammy & Someone

Sammy won’t stink
When he arrives at the Gate,
Not even of his last urine:
Someone has wiped him clean.

Sammy is God-sent,
To limelight gentle care rendered
by someone who pledges me no care:
He knows not if he has enough to spare.

Where Sammy is Not

Where Sammy is Not

Heavy is the dog space
Now unoccupied
Weighing down hearts
Aching old bones
Where Sammy is Not

Gentle is the kiss
Now in Heaven

Singing in beautiful tones

Sammy

Sammy

Fierce as a tiger, true to his fur.
Fighting packs, daring wild boars;
Survived heart worms & tick fever,
Even needles in tongue, from porcupines.
A good boy when not chasing cats.
We loved him for what he was.
Dear Old Sammy, fare well …
Smoke gets in our eyes …
